Comfort Dog Ministry

Team Boaz has been working very hard to extend our ministry beyond the walls of Christ the King and into the entire Lake community to bring the Mercy, Compassion, Presence and Proclamation of Jesus Christ to those suffering and in need.

 

We currently are routine visitors at several area nursing homes, a part of the ministry that continues to grow.  We also serve weekly at our local hospital cancer center.  Those who finish their treatments and get to ring the bell are given a stuffed Boaz as well.

  

Our armed forces outreach has included our Marine Corps League, where we have helped them celebrate the US Marine Corp birthday and give out Christmas gifts to active-duty Marines at Fort Leonard Wood.

 

Hospice is another way that we have expanded our outreach ministry.  We are currently working with 2 local hospice services.  Being allowed to come alongside a person or family during this very difficult time is an honor and privilege. 

 

We are also working with our local school, Osage High School on Wellness Wednesdays, promoting mental health among young adults. In these tough times, Boaz is a welcome respite.
